A Prayer for Healing: Body, Heart & Spirit
An honest prayer for physical, emotional, and spiritual healing—and for grace while recovery takes time.

Healing is not always quick, visible, or simple. Sometimes it looks like relief. Sometimes it looks like learning how to live one faithful day at a time while doctors, counselors, community, and prayer all have a place in your care.
Bring the whole wound to God
You do not have to separate your body from your emotions or your faith when you pray. Tell God where it hurts, what you fear, what has exhausted you, and what help you need to seek.
“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”
Trusting God while receiving care
Faith and appropriate care are not enemies. A prescription, a therapy appointment, rest, treatment, a support group, or asking someone to drive you can all be part of wise stewardship.
A gentle plan for today
- Name what needs healing without minimizing it.
- Choose one appropriate next step for care.
- Ask one trusted person to stand with you.
- Pray for endurance as well as the outcome you desire.
Please read first
Prayer and Scripture can support your faith as you heal, but they do not replace qualified medical, mental-health, addiction, or emergency care. Seeking appropriate professional help is a wise and faithful step.

A prayer for healing
Father, You see every place in me that hurts—the pain I can explain and the pain I cannot put into words. I bring You my body, my emotions, my memories, and my spirit. Please meet me with mercy in each one.
Give wisdom to the doctors, counselors, pastors, family members, and friends who support me. Help me receive appropriate care without shame and ask good questions without fear. Guard me from promises You have not made, and anchor me in the promise that I am never abandoned.
Where healing is slow, give me patience for today. Where I am discouraged, give me enough strength for the next right step. Where grief and fear have settled into my heart, bring Your steady peace. Restore what can be restored, teach me how to care for what remains tender, and keep me close to You through every part of this season.
I trust Your character even when I cannot predict the outcome. Hold me, guide me, and let hope grow quietly again. In Jesus’ name, amen.
