How to Start a Christian Journal: A Beginner's Guide
A no-pressure beginner's guide to choosing a journal, setting a rhythm, and using writing to grow closer to God.

Christian journaling is simply making space to write with God: what you notice in Scripture, what you are praying, what you are learning, and where you need wisdom. You do not need perfect handwriting or a complicated system.
Begin with what you already have
- 1Choose any notebook and a pen you enjoy using.
- 2Pick a repeatable time—even ten quiet minutes.
- 3Date each entry so you can notice growth later.
- 4Read a short Scripture passage before you write.
- 5End with one honest prayer and one next step.
