Healthy marriage prayer is not asking God to control another person. It is inviting Him into your own words, choices, patterns, and shared life.

Pray for the relationship you are building

  • Clear communication without contempt.
  • Unity without erasing either person’s voice.
  • Patience during stress and change.
  • Forgiveness joined with responsibility and repair.
  • Wisdom for money, parenting, family, and work.
  • Protection from secrecy, resentment, and neglect.
  • A shared desire to grow closer to God.

Safety comes before reconciliation

If your relationship is abusive or unsafe, prayer does not require you to remain in danger. Contact emergency services or a qualified domestic-violence resource in your area, make a safety plan, and speak with someone trustworthy.

If you or your children are unsafe, contact local emergency services or a qualified domestic-violence organization. Forgiveness never requires remaining in danger, removing wise boundaries, or restoring trust without demonstrated change.

Pray this

A prayer for your marriage

Lord, thank You for seeing our marriage clearly—the tenderness, the strain, the routines, and the words we have not known how to say. Teach us to listen without preparing a defense and speak truth without using it as a weapon.

Grow patience where stress has made us sharp. Give us humility to apologize, wisdom to repair what has been damaged, and courage to ask for qualified help when we need it. Protect our relationship from secrecy, contempt, comparison, and neglect.

Help us make decisions with unity and respect. Guide us in money, parenting, work, intimacy, extended family, and every new season. Draw each of us closer to You so that spiritual growth becomes more than an appearance.

Where forgiveness is needed, lead us honestly. Where trust must be rebuilt, let change be consistent and real. Where safety is at risk, give clear direction, strong boundaries, and immediate support. Let our home be marked by truth, kindness, peace, and mutual honor. In Jesus’ name, amen.
